I'm Nick — solutions consultant, builder, and chronic optimizer based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
The Day Job
I'm a Senior Solutions Consultant at Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence (soon to be Octave). I've spent 15+ years in enterprise asset management — starting hands-on with implementations, DBA work, and integrations at utilities like Unitywater and Moreton Bay Water, then moving to the vendor side with Infor and now Hexagon.
I'm not just a presales guy reading scripts. I've written the SQL, built the reports, done the UAT sessions. That hands-on background means I actually understand what I'm demoing.
The Real Interests
Outside of work, I'm obsessed with using technology to optimize... everything:
- AI & Productivity — I use AI tools daily to 10x my output. Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, GitHub Copilot — whatever gives me leverage.
- Vibecoding — Rapidly building apps with AI assistance. Move fast, ship things, iterate.
- Biohacking & Longevity — Oura Ring, Apple Watch, genetic testing, regular bloodwork. I've loaded all my health data into AI to find patterns and optimize.
- Self-Hosting — Running a Proxmox homelab with VMs for Home Assistant, Frigate, media servers, and yes, my own AI assistant.
Beyond the Screen
When I'm not building or optimizing, you'll find me:
- 🏋️ At the gym or in the pool
- 🧊 Doing ice baths and sauna sessions
- 🏎️ Watching F1
- 🚙 4-wheel driving and camping with the family
- 👨👩👧👧 Hanging with my wife and two daughters on the Sunshine Coast
The Thesis
The people who learn to leverage AI effectively will have an unfair advantage in the next decade.
I'm not interested in AI replacing jobs—I'm interested in it multiplying what one person can do. I've seen it firsthand: EAM Buddy lets me configure demos in minutes instead of hours. NotebookLM helps me prep for discovery calls by synthesizing years of notes.
This is just the beginning. I'm building that advantage—and sharing what I learn.
