About

I'm Nick — solutions consultant, builder, and chronic optimizer based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

I spent 15+ years in enterprise asset management, but these days I'm more interested in building things than selling them. I use AI to multiply my output, track everything from sleep to bloodwork, and run a homelab that would make my ISP nervous.

The Day Job

Yes, I have a corporate job. No, I don't just read PowerPoint slides.

I'm a Senior Solutions Consultant at Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence (soon to be Octave). I help enterprise clients understand how HxGN EAM can solve their asset management challenges through product demos, RFP responses, and presales work.

But here's the thing—I'm not just a presales guy reading scripts. I started my career doing hands-on implementations, DBA work, and integrations at utilities like Unitywater and Moreton Bay Water. I've written the SQL, built the reports, sat through the UAT sessions. That background means I actually understand what I'm demoing, not just what the datasheet says.

2022 — Present

Senior Solutions Consultant

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence

Product demos, RFP responses, presales. Helping enterprise clients understand how HxGN EAM can solve their asset management challenges.

2014 — 2022

Business Solutions Consultant

Infor

8 years in EAM presales across ANZ. Wrote SQL, built reports, ran implementations—not just slides and scripts.

2009 — 2014

Asset Systems Technologist / DBA

Unitywater & Moreton Bay Water

The hands-on years. Database administration, system implementations, integrations, UAT. I actually built the things I now demo.

The Real Interests

What I actually spend my time thinking about.

AI & Productivity

I use Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, and GitHub Copilot daily. The multiplier effect is real—I can do in an afternoon what used to take a week.

Vibecoding

Rapidly building apps with AI assistance. Move fast, break things, fix them, ship. EAM Buddy was a weekend project that became something bigger.

Biohacking

Oura Ring, Apple Watch, quarterly bloodwork, genetic testing. I've loaded all my health data into AI to find patterns and optimize.

Self-Hosting

Proxmox homelab with 7+ VMs. Home Assistant, Frigate, media servers, and my own AI assistant named Clawdbot. Over-engineered and proud of it.

Beyond the Screen

When I'm not building or optimizing, you'll find me:

  • 🏋️ At the gym or in the pool
  • 🧊 Ice baths and sauna sessions
  • 🏎️ Watching F1 (go McLaren)
  • 🚙 4-wheel driving and camping
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Hanging with my wife and two daughters

"I'm not interested in AI replacing jobs—I'm interested in it multiplying what one person can do."

The Thesis

The people who learn to leverage AI effectively will have an unfair advantage in the next decade.

I've seen it firsthand: EAM Buddy lets me configure demos in minutes instead of hours. NotebookLM helps me prep for discovery calls by synthesizing years of notes. GitHub Copilot writes 40% of my code.

This is just the beginning. I'm building that advantage—and sharing what I learn.
